  • From Echos

    XXII

TH E West a glimmering lake of light,

    A dream of pearly weather,

The first of stars is burning white -

    The star we watch together.

Is April dead? The unresting year

    Will shape us our September,

And April's work is done, my dear -

    Do you not remember?

0 gracious eve! 0 happy star,

    Still-flashing, glowing, sinking! -

Who lives of lovers near or far

So glad as I in thinking?

The gallant world is warm and green,

    For May fulfils November.

When lights and leaves and loves have been,

    Sweet, will you remember?

    0 star benignant and serene,

    I take the good to-morrow,

That fills from verge to verge my dream,

With all its joy and sorrow!

The old, sweet spell is unforgot

    That turns to June December;

And, tho' the world remembered not,

    Love, we would remember

  • The Best Love Poem

    that I have ever read....

    To....

I just recall this wondrous instant:
You have arrived before my face --
A vision, fleeting in a distance,
A spirit of the pure grace.

    In pine of sorrow unfair,
    In worldly harassment and noise
I dreamed of your beloved air
And heard your quiet, gentle voice.

Years passed. The tempests' rebel senders
    Have scattered this delightful dream,
And I forgot this sound tender
    And how heavenly you seemed.

    In gloomy dark of isolation,
    My  days were gradually moved,
    Without faith and inspiration,
    Without tears, life, and love.

    My soul awoke with decision:
And you again came as a blest,
    Like an enchanting fleeting vision,
A spirit of the pure grace.

My heart beats on in resurrection --
It has again for what to strive:
    Divinity and inspiration,
    Life, tears, and eternal love.

About Me

  • Welcome! I will be posting my thoughts here from time to time. I sometimes have thoughts that may be considered controversial or not politically correct but my thoughts are my thoughts. As my Grandma used to tell me, feelings are not right or wrong- they just are. Now, let's move along...
